Fall Gallery Night, sponsored by the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, is a great annual event in the Madison-area community. We love being part of it, and we’re excited about the wonderful and creative pieces that will be on display at the Council for the collection titled “Art Beyond Sight.” The exhibit includes photography by Mike Morris, oil paintings by Al Schmiege, wood carvings by Don McCall, and recorded stories coordinated by Annika Konrad. All art was created by individuals with vision loss, and it will be accessible to guests who have vision loss.
Please join us any time between 5 and 9 p.m. on Friday, October 10, when we host an opening reception. You’ll find us at 754 Williamson Street in Madison. You can meet the artists, learn about how and why they discovered a love for art, and understand what it means to them as individuals with vision loss.
The Gallery Talk begins at 6:30 p.m.
View the exhibit and meet the artists. Enjoy the jazz/blues/soul music of Indigo Skye Duo and savor tasty refreshments, some of which have been generously donated by Madison businesses and organizations. Learn about the Council’s programs and services on behalf of individuals in Wisconsin who have vision loss.
If you can’t make it to the Council on October 10, “Art Beyond Sight” will be available for viewing until November 15. You’re welcome to stop by Monday through Friday, any time between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
