Attendees listen to a speaker at the 2019 Legislative Day.
The Council is pleased to announce an opportunity to engage with state agency leaders around vital topics like transportation, employment and rehabilitation services. We are actively working with our team to make adjustments to this event in response to COVID-19.
The state budget operates on a two-year cycle. In 2020 state agencies like the Departments of Workforce Development, Transportation and Health Services are developing budget proposals for key programs they administer: vocational rehabilitation, transit, specialized transportation and pedestrian safety programs and vision rehabilitation services provided through the Office for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
This is a critical time to foster understanding of how people experiencing vision loss are impacted by vital state services, noting what works in our lives and where we face daily challenges.
If you would like to share important example stories, please indicate your interest in speaking on the registration form. A member of Council staff will contact you to set this up. Asking to share your story, does not guarantee that you’ll be asked to speak.
