Each year, the Council is honored to display artwork by people who are blind or visually impaired. As part of its mission to empower people and the value of inclusivity, we actively seek and welcome art created by people from people experiencing vision loss.
Do you know someone who is blind or visually impaired who expresses creativity through photography, woodworking, painting, fiber arts or other art forms? The Council is seeking artists to participate in MMOCA’s Fall Gallery Night on Friday, October 2. The event will be online. Learn more about the event at WCBlind.org/Events.
To be considered, submit three to five photos of your work to Hannah at HWente@WCBlind.org by Thursday, August 13.
Participating in Gallery Night is a great way to showcase your work and help others to learn about the diverse talents and contributions of people who are blind or visually impaired.
All artists are welcome to sell their pieces. In the past, artwork has sold to individuals and UW Health clinics. After the Gallery Night event, art will stay up as a virtual gallery until mid-November. Art may then be eligible to go on a traveling exhibit with permission of the artist.
