As a member of Community Shares of Wisconsin, the Council is excited to be part of a communitywide online fundraising day called The Big Share! All day on Tuesday, March 1, you’ll have the opportunity to make a gift to help the Council or any of the other 70 nonprofit Community Shares organizations that work hard year-round to promote social justice and environmental stewardship. To celebrate our 70th anniversary, the Council has set an ambitious Big Share fundraising goal of $7,000! You can help us reach it by making a gift!
If you can, please make your gift on March 1 between 10 and 11 a.m. to help us win a sponsored “Power Hour,” which could add $1,000 to our total. That extra $1,000 could connect many people with vision loss to the resources and services the Council offers.
Thank you to Kirsten Houghton, CPA, MBA, who has offered a matching gift on behalf of SVA CPAs and to UW Health for their generous incentive gift! Visit The Big Share to see the full schedule of events for March 1.
We also hope you will join us at 2 p.m. for a Facebook Live event we’re hosting in partnership with fellow CSW members Disability Rights Wisconsin and the League of Women Voters focusing on the Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition’s efforts to eliminate barriers to voting for people with all disabilities.
All gifts will be used to help people in Wisconsin who are adjusting to life with changing vision, such as a free white cane, an in-home visit to identify safety issues, or a class to learn how to stay in touch using a smartphone. Every gift makes an impact for someone who is visually impaired. Thank you!
