In 2016, 471 people in Wisconsin who are blind or visually impaired received a free white cane from the Council. For those people who received their first white cane, or replaced a well-worn one, having that cane means they can safely cross the street, walk confidently throughout their neighborhood, and be recognized as someone with low vision.
The Council has been providing white canes free of charge for over 30 years. Please consider making a gift to the Council to help us cover the cost of the canes and for other vision services we offer throughout the state. Gifts can be made by clicking the DONATE button or by mailing a check to WCBVI, 754 Williamson Street, Madison, WI 53703. To learn more about the White Cane Fund, click here. Thank you!
