Recognizing outstanding student achievements

For much of our history, the Council has provided academic scholarships to support visually impaired and blind students who want to enhance their education and achieve their professional goals and dreams. Since the program’s inception, these scholarships have supported hundreds of students with thousands of dollars in awards, breaking down barriers and challenges faced in education and employment for people with vision loss.

The 2022 scholarship application period is now closed.

Scholarships are available for post-secondary students who are blind or visually impaired attending two-year college, technical college or four-year university, as well as graduate programs. The application period is now closed.

Applications are typically available mid-February with a submission deadline in April.

“I know my passion for the future is to help kids with disabilities through the education system because I know the challenges that are faced. I am grateful to the Council for a scholarship to support my plans to go to college. If I can make a difference in any way possible for someone else, that will be my dream come true.
