We’re pleased to welcome Nate Wegehaupt as the newest member of the Council staff. Nate came on board April 1 as our new Communications Coordinator. In that role, he will write newsletter articles, website content and social media posts; prepare email communications for distribution; help maintain the website; and perform various other communications tasks.
Prior to joining the Council, Nate was a radio producer and journalist at Civic Media, and before that was assistant news director at WORT Radio in Madison. While he didn’t include this on his résumé, we also love the fact that during his college days, he was a pro wrestling commentator in La Crosse.
“With his strong journalism background, Nate brings a lot of valuable skills to the communications team,” says Communications Director Bob Jacobson. “He’s been able to hit the ground running and begin to contribute very quickly.”
“I’m excited to join the Council in furthering its mission to empower people with vision loss to live well and be more independent,” Nate says.
“Working as a journalist, I’ve been impressed with the Council’s advocacy and education work. I look forward to using my skills to support these efforts to bring about positive change for people across Wisconsin.”
