Introducing Our 2026 Council Scholarship Recipients

A four-by-two grid of this year's scholarship recipients

We’re pleased to announce this year’s Council Scholarship recipients!

Each year, we award scholarships to students from around Wisconsin who are blind or low vision and will be enrolled in post-secondary education in the fall. Past recipients have used the scholarship funds in a variety of ways to help fuel their college experience. In addition to typical costs like tuition, books and housing, students with vision loss take on a variety of additional expenses, such as adaptive devices and access technology. Transportation barriers force many students to use more expensive alternatives to get around. Many recipients have told us that the scholarship enabled them to spend fewer hours working a part-time job and devote more time to their studies.

“We were so pleased by the number of well-qualified students who applied this year, several of them first-time applicants,” says Executive Director Denise Jess. “It’s a privilege to be able to help a group of blind and low vision students pursue their postsecondary goals each year as they work their way toward academic and career success.”
