Support the Council with a Year-End Gift

Dear Friends,

Change is woven into every chapter of our lives. Seasons shift, families grow, technology evolves — and sometimes, our eyesight changes, too. When it does, the Council is here to walk beside each person with knowledge, compassion, and unwavering support.

No matter our age — whether we’re in our 30s or our 90s — one truth remains: change is inevitable. Some changes bring joy and excitement; others arrive unexpectedly and can fill us with grief or uncertainty.

For many, vision loss is one of those life-altering changes. It may come slowly over time, or it may happen in an instant. Either way, it reshapes daily life in profound ways. But with your generosity, this change does not have to mean losing confidence, independence, or hope.

Your gift would help someone like Sarah, who lost her sight early in life due to cataracts. “Just being able to get groceries by myself is so amazing,” Sarah says. “There is definitely a time to reach out and ask for help, but it’s really empowering to know that I can do it on my own. It makes me feel like a bigger, stronger person. It makes me realize that other things in life may not be as hard as they seem.”

More than anything, Sarah says her work with the professional staff at the Council has given her the confidence she needs to live her life how she wants to without fear.

Over the years, thousands of people have sought services from the Council. We’ve been able to provide life-changing guidance because of donors who care deeply about empowering people who are blind or low vision.

Stories like Sarah’s are possible because people care. Every year, more people reach out for help in adapting to their changing vision. Whether it’s learning technology skills, needing a magnifier to read, or advocating for a safe crosswalk, the Council is available with staff and resources to help!

As the year draws to a close, please consider making a donation to the Council. You can do so here, on our website by clicking the Donate button at the top of the page or you can mail a check made payable to WCBVI to 754 Williamson Street, Madison, WI 53703.

Your support will ensure that when change happens, people who are blind or low vision will be given the tools and encouragement they need to move forward with confidence. Thank you!
