The following Wisconsin low vision support groups may be helpful to you or a loved one affected by vision loss. They are not ran by Wisconsin Council of the Blind and we cannot guarantee the information listed below is current. Call or email the contact person to get more information. They have a Resource Guide on the website with area resources and services that many find helpful.

The Low Vision Support Group is suspended until further notice. We hope to resume when we are able to do so safely.

Meets every 2nd Tuesday at 2:00 (currently not meeting due to COVID-19.).  They publish in their monthly magazine, their staff referees customers to the support group as needed.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of alternating months. Dates scheduled in 2020 are January 8, March 11, May 13, July 8, September 9, and November 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

If you or a family member have been diagnosed with an eye condition, or if you are caregiver, consider joining this group which helps those affected by vision loss. The group will offer the opportunity to talk to others, share common concerns, frustrations, stories, and find solutions to your vision-related difficulties.

This is a new group that meets by Zoom conference call monthly to discuss the impact of vision loss and share tips to adjust to vision loss. No need to go out. No need to get a ride. Call in from your phone or join by computer, smartphone or tablet.

The group reaches out to various community service providers to come and speak about the latest technology or products available for person with vision loss.  Information has been shared about the various recreational activities available throughout Wisconsin.  Speakers have presented on the stages of loss, training techniques and how to stay active.  The Racine group provides an outlet for anyone with a vision loss to experience new and exciting way to express themselves through art.

The group is not meeting at this time, but hopes to start meeting again in September.
