The following Wisconsin low vision support groups may be helpful to you or a loved one affected by vision loss. They are not ran by Wisconsin Council of the Blind and we cannot guarantee the information listed below is current. Call or email the contact person to get more information. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of alternating months. Facilitated by Dr. Trixie Eakin, Essential Family Vision. 2020 scheduled meeting dates are January 8, March 11, May 13, July 8, September 9, and November 11 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. 

If you or a family member have been diagnosed with an eye condition, or if you are caregiver, consider joining this group which helps those affected by vision loss. The group will offer the opportunity to talk to others, share common concerns, frustrations, stories, and find solutions to your vision-related difficulties.

The group reaches out to various community service providers to come and speak about the latest technology or products available for person with vision loss.  Information has been shared about the various recreational activities available throughout Wisconsin.  Speakers have presented on the stages of loss, training techniques and how to stay active.  The Racine group provides an outlet for anyone with a vision loss to experience new and exciting way to express themselves through art.
