The fair features low vision product vendors and how-to educational sessions. Sessions teach strategies and techniques to enable you to keep doing the activities you enjoy.

Vendors will be at the Low Vision Fair throughout the day and include: Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired Sharper Vision Store; Adaptive Technology Resources, Inc.; Aging and Disability Resource Centers of Eau Claire County and Chippewa County; Center for Independent Living for Western Wisconsin; Chippewa Valley VIP Support Group; Enhanced Vision; Industries for the Blind and Visually Impaired; Author Kathie Schneider; Office for the Blind and Visually Impaired; Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing; Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute; Wisconsin Talking Book and Braille Library.

The educational breakout sessions take place between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and may include speakers on topics such as smart home technology, strategies to engage in everyday activities, reading with low vision, and use of lighting, labeling and contrast.

“The breakout sessions were helpful,” says Rick, a previous Low Vision Fair attendee. “It is valuable to learn from people who use these strategies and products in their own lives.”

The Low Vision Fair serves as a space to talk with others who are experiencing vision loss. There is no cost. Anyone with vision impairment, family, friends or professionals are welcome to attend.
