Are you an artist living with blindness or low vision? Do you know someone who is? We are currently looking for artists to feature at Gallery Night 2024, scheduled for Friday, November 1.
For over a decade the Council has been exhibiting the work of artists who are blind or visually impaired at Gallery Night events in the fall. In addition to this in-person event, we will also feature the pieces in an online virtual gallery.
We welcome art work in a wide range of formats. Last year’s display included paintings, photographs, digital drawings, knitted and crocheted pieces, wood furniture, carvings and ceramics, and even a couple of exquisite, hand-tied fishing flies… something new to the Council! You can check out last year’s pieces by exploring our 2023 virtual gallery at WCBlind.org/Events/Virtual-Gallery/
All Gallery Night artists are welcome to sell their pieces, with 20% of proceeds retained by the Council.
If you are interested in being considered for Gallery Night, email two or three photos of your work by Friday, August 30 to Communications Director Bob Jacobson at BJacobson@WCBlind.org. Include your name, city of residence, the titles of the pieces, the media used, and their size. For more information about Gallery Night visit WCBlind.org/Events/Gallery-Night.
